ABOUT
DK High Steppers Twirling group was founded in 2001 by Mrs. Doris Keener. She has over 20 years of experience in twirling and is certified as a professional instructor by the United States Twirling Association. She was the twirling coach of 20 years at Texas Southern University "Ocean of Soul' Marching Band. She has also instructed the City of Houston Twirling Team. In addition, the DK High Steppers' professional staff and instructors have trained students and sponsored camps at several area schools and universities. Doris is also the former official trainer for the Houston All Star Band.
In addition, our coaching staff, consists of alumni from University of Arkansas, Jackson State University, Sam Houston State University, Texas Southern University. All of our coaching staff has a variety of talents in baton twirling, cheerleading, color guard, and dance/ drill team experience.
We strive to make each class fun, exciting, and very rewarding.
BATON TWIRLING
Baton Twirling Instruction is divide into three separate entities.
The Baby Dolls, The Diamonds, and The Divas
One, Two, Three Baton, Basic Fundamental Instruction,
and Intermediate and Advance Twirling.
One spins, Illusions, Airplanes, Thumb Toss
Blind Catch, Back Hand Catch, Horizontal Catch, Flourishes
Whips, Leg Toss, Leg Catch, Neck Rolls and Arm Rolls

DANCE
DK Highsteppers Dance Camp offers custom camps for dance teams. The camp is designed for directors who want original field-ready routines for football games. The camp is open to studio dancers, team members, and dancers with little or no experience!!
